Squire Woods Farm

Our Policy

Our Policy

Each goat has a name and it’s own personality.

Just like people, we believe they all have individuals souls.
In the way your dog or cat is part of your family, the same goes for our goats.

We do our best to give each one the individual attention and a quality of life suitable to its needs.

We reserve the right to refuse to sell any goat for any reason, at our own discretion, if we feel the living arrangements, or other conditions are not suitable.

Every goat on our farm was born & raised on our farm.

We have been present to assist in every new birth!
The kids are hopelessly cute, and in the right setting, will grow up to live good happy lives filled with love.
Although everyone loves babies, several of our one year old does & wethers are just as endearing!

Which goats are best for you? If you are not sure, often we find coming to the farm and spending a little time, will give you a chance to bond with them and maybe you will find your favorite.

For us, the most difficult part of raising goats, is seeing the goats we raised from birth, leave to start new lives at the homes of families who adopted them.
Each goat has a name & its own quirky personality. We believe they all are blessed with individuals souls, just like people.
Just as a dog or cat is part of your family, the same goes for our goats we send off each year to start a new life.

We do our best to ensure that all the goats we part with. will be able to live their lives out to the fullest with a new family that is well suited, eager and able to provide the care, time, love & playful interaction they thrive on.

We consider each and every one of our goats in our herd to be our pets. We treat them all with love, care and interaction.
We do not consider our goats as “livestock” or living background lawn ornaments.

We encourage you to do as much research as possible about what caring for goats entails.  Also we encourage you to contact us and talk to us, and visit our herd by appointment or even sign-up for a personalized one-on-one goat care workshops

  • The prospective owner must have suitable housing conditions for the goats to live comfortably.

  • The prospective owner should check with their town government to see if goats are allowed on their property.

  • The prospective owner's lifestyle must be conducive, to be able to care for them daily.

  • Under no circumstances are our goats to be ignored, used for meat, or industrial purposes.

This year in 2020, many of our goats can be offered as a group. Several of our young does that have come of age will be delivering or are ready for breading in the fall.

As goats have a lifelong family bond, the mother and kids will remain together.
This also provides with an opportunity to develop your milking skills if you would like to make cheese or soap.

We reserve the right to refuse to sell any goat for any reason, including if we are not comfortable in any way with the possible treatment or care of our goats.
